behind my helpless smile, there's exactly the other half of myself
Harry was still getting used to the idea of going back to school without worrying about his life being in danger. He had been rather shocked that the war had ended soon enough without him having to witness the deaths of people he cared and liked. Though he still felt bad upon remembering the headmaster. He had rather become fond of the elder wizard and even came to consider him as grandfather of sorts. And without him at school it had felt a bit odd the last year, but they all adjusted to it well. That was only possible because of the fact that the school had practically wiped away anything which would indicate that a war had taken place inside it's walls. None would actually believe that a great Wizarding war had occurred in the great hall. He was very much inclined to think that the castle is sentinent after witnessing this. After all how could a castle which had been hosting witches and wizards for over centuries not pick up the magic used in it's very halls. While that seemed like a far fetched theory, he knew that it was likely that it might be possible. Given the fact that magic itself was considered to be impossible in the eyes of muggles but yet it exisists, he hoped that there was a chance that his theory might also be considered true. He decided to go and talk to his Magical theory professor about it on a later date or bug Hermione about it.
As Harry sat in the cafe chair as he waited for Hermione to arrive. He had wrote her a letter just the other day asking if she could meet him. Ever since the holidays have started he has not had the opportunity to catch up with his friends although he would've counted Ron and Hermione as the only friends till his fifth year, that all changed a bit after the war, and in his Sixth year when he had a chance to expand his friendships. Even though most of his friends were from Gryffindor, he did try and make a few friends who were in the DA with him and also were from the other houses even the Slytherins though only a few of them were deemed a bit bearable. Harry sipped on the coffee before him as he waited for the brunette haired witch to arrive so that he can discuss with her his previous tights on the castle being sentinent. Hermione was a better option to ask rather than to check out the books in the library. After all there wasn't a thing she didn't know in his eyes.
Hermione was in her room at home when she had received a letter from Harry. "Well, I never heard of Horizont Alley!" The young teen said as she put the letter on her desk. She walked over to her closet and expected every outfit she had. She had dresses that she hardly wore because she likes to wear jeans over skirts and dresses. She saw nothing to her liking so she walked over to her dresser and pulled out a nice red skirt and a black tank top. She wanted to look nice for Harry that was for sure. The young brunette liked the jet black hair eyeglasses boy with a scar on his forehead. She was thinking of what he may like. The young wizards name happens to be Harry James Potter. She loved the fact that he's never called her a know it all.
She walked into the bathroom and pulled her bushy brown hair into a messy bun with some hanging out. She loved the look on her. She threw on some make-up which she hardly ever do. Mainly because it took too long to put on just to take off a few hours later. But for Harry, it was well worth it. Hermione looked at the clock and frowned a bit. She had to go now if she wanted to make it on time. Even though he didn't say what time to meet up so she wouldn't be late even if she tried. She didn't like being late for anything. Especially class when school is in section. Her two best friends even knew this about her. She quickly went down the stairs and stopped by her mother. She was of age by the wizarding world and the muggle world. She loved that feeling.
She stopped once she saw her mother though. "I'll be back later mum. Going to meet Harry in Horizont Alley. I'll bring back some milk on the way home." She said as she had looked in the fridge as she had grabbed for a juice. She hurried out the door and made her way down the lane. She caught the bus that went near the Leaky Cauldron and got off there. She looked around and saw a different entrance and saw that no one else could see this one too. "Wow, this is amazing." She stated as she went through the entrance. She walked down the Alley until she saw the cafe of the name. She walked quietly to where Harry was and covered his eyes. She disguised her voice a little bit. "Guess who?" She said with a smile on her face.
behind my helpless smile, there's exactly the other half of myself
As Harry sat there, he first felt the presence of Hermione and then he felt her tiny hands close his eyes and in a disguised voice he heard her speak. He chuckled at her a little and said "c'mon Hermione, we're too old for this". Though one could see that the smile on his lips and the twinkle in his eyes would say otherwise as he tried to pry her hands away from his face to try and see his best friend. Being a person who only had two people by his side always Harry had become rather skilled at recognising then both even with ease no matter how much they try to disguise their voice. He was rather sure that he can even guess them both with the slightest of sigh or sound or even their presence. He wouldn't say that it was a skill he had been born with, but rather it was a skill he grew up learning. He had got that while trying to escape Dudley and his gang, and it was a skill he was glad to have picked up at an early age. Else his survival through his first five years of schooling could've been a bit more difficult. But then again he would be the only one who would say that it was a bit better and had Ron heard his internal thoughts he would've deemed him as 'bloody mental'.
